Course Outline
Four focused modules that build progressively from foundational law to practical workplace strategies.

Module 1
Understanding workplace harassment law
We begin with the constitutional and statutory foundations of harassment law in Pakistan. You will explore the constitutional provisions that guarantee the right to work with dignity and gain a thorough understanding of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 and its 2022 amendments. This module also covers key Supreme Court judgments that have shaped how harassment is defined and interpreted in Pakistani law.

Module 2
Impact of harassment in legal settings
This module helps you recognise harassment in the specific contexts of legal practice, including chambers, courtrooms, bar associations, and law firms. You will learn to identify quid pro quo harassment, hostile work environments, abuse of authority, and subtle forms of discrimination. Crucially, this module offers an exploration of the psychological impact of harassment on victims.

Module 3
Reporting mechanisms and procedures
This module maps out the reporting pathways available to legal professionals, including internal inquiry committees, the Federal Ombudsperson (FOSPAH), provincial ombudspersons, bar councils, and the Supreme Judicial Council. You will learn how inquiry committees are constituted, how to document evidence effectively, and what protections exist for complainants and witnesses

Module 4
Prevention and creating safe workplaces
Prevention is everyone’s responsibility. This module covers what individuals, institutions, and bar associations can do to create harassment-free legal workplaces. You will learn bystander intervention techniques tailored to the legal profession’s hierarchy, understand your ethical and professional obligations under the law, and explore what institutional policies and codes of conduct should look like.
